Helping the rural poor through education, income generation & aid

Empathy is a UK registered charity (no. 1156970) helping the rural poor through education, income generation and aid. We are passionate to see the most vulnerable and disadvantaged being reached, resourced and released from all forms of poverty.

In 2010, we started working alongside the marginalised rural poor of Northern Laos, SE Asia with income generating fish & mushroom projects and the following new projects being added to meet community needs and requests:

"I was privileged to spend a week with the Fish Aid Director and his excellent Laos Team in June 2016.  Our Trust had made grants to support their mushroom cultivation and fish farming projects, set up to provide income generation for the rural poor.  I was delighted with how effective this niche charity is, multiplying small to medium grants into highly sustainable livelihood micro-businesses which empower families and communities to provide for themselves.  I would recommend Fish Aid to other trusts with rural development mandates as an experienced, trustworthy and effective charity."

"Having heard great things about Fish Aid… I was stunned and deeply impressed by his achievements. Fish Aid really has made a difference, providing training, skills and jobs to marginalised and disadvantaged people who had nothing and now have the wherewithal to feed their families and their communities. This is inspirational work and is worthy of wide support.”
